Why Return Mindfully? 

It is not uncommon to go on auto-pilot when avoiding emotional pain. One of the basic human reactions to emotional pain is avoidance. Returning mindfully allows space to process and heal emotional pain and trauma.  My goal is to create the safe space to return mindfully and heal.

It is not uncommon to go on auto-pilot when avoiding emotional pain. One of the basic human reactions to emotional pain is avoidance. Returning mindfully allows space to process and heal emotional pain and trauma.  My goal is to create the safe space to return mindfully and heal.

After earning a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Houston at Clear Lake, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #75901) and Licensed Chemical Dependency (LCDC# 13821) Counselor. Continuing my education, I became proficitient in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR therapy) for trauma  and anxiety.  I have experience providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults.  My areas of specialty include treating complex trauma, depression, anxiety, helping clients cope with  self-injurious thoughts and behaviors, and suicidal ideation. I have also worked with survivors of sexual assault and family violence utilizing different modalities of trauma therapy.  I work with couples to improve boundaries and communication.

Together ,  we  will  tailor  your  treatment  to  target  areas  for  growth  and  recovery. Here’s  what  you  can  expect: We schedule a 15 minute phone call to see if we are a good fit. We begin to build  a  therapeutic  alliance which will be the foundation for all of our work. Know  that  I  am  always  on  your  side  to  navigate  the  best  possible  solutions  for  your  personalized  treatment.  Then we develop  the  treatment  plan  based  on  your  needs. Treatment  is  not  a  set  limit.  Some  clients  require  only  a  few  months  to  target  a  goal  and  reach  it.  We  can  review  that  when  discussing  treatment  plan.

I am able to supplement and integrate harm reduction strategies with 12-step recovery and have aided clients with trauma  and  addiction struggles.   I  have  also  assisted  couples  in  conflict  resolution  and  setting  healthy  boundaries.
